Def Sound
Def Sound
is a published poet, songwriter, Brownswood Bubbler, designer, educator and world traveled DJ . His mom given birth name Emmanuel Ricketts originally naming himself after a goal Definitive Sound (now shortened to Def Sound). Hailing from Los Angeles, California as a free spirit who started his journey and first touched stage in 2007 as a spoken word artist. He brought those creative writing skills into his unique musical style, Def Sound has also gained success from his creative high energetic and interactive live performances supporting acts such as Father John Misty, Zoe Kravitz, Anderson Paak, J*DaVey, ?uestluv, Jessie Boykins III, Open Mike Eagle, Quadron, James Fauntleroy, Theophilus London, Gaslamp Killer, Joe Kay & Andre Power of Soulection, Overdoz, Melo-X, and Aja Monet.

2011 Def got the attention of Gilles Peterson of BBC Radio with the release of his single (A)Gain which made Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Bubblers Vol.8 and received BBC Radio’s top 25 songs of the year honors, with an invitation to The World Wide Awards. In fall of 2011 Def toured overseas playing in Amsterdam, UK, and the Bread and Butter Festival in Berlin. Lecturing at La Verne University as well as performing in art spaces such as Museum of Contemporary Art (The MOCA), Pehrspace, The Women’s Center For Creative Writing, and Disney’s REDCAT studio. Known for his eye catching DIY visuals his "i N E E D Y o u 2 K n o w" video aired on DubLab's Border Blaster on KCET in Fall of 2016. Def believe that the music is as important as it's visuals, everything is cyclical and feeds off the energy of each other so in the Fall of 2016 he launched his audio visual label called "Y E ∀ F O R E V E R " and will be opening an online inspiration gallery in 2017 called "CHANNEL". Everyday Def is a new artist, just building his pyramid, he suggests you do the same.
Shira
Shira
In Hebrew SHIRA means song and poem. Born in Israel, living in Brooklyn, she’s a songwriter, producer, writer and visual artist. She was appropriately dubbed a "Renaissance person" by Deli Magazine, who recently named her one of NYC's Best Emerging Artists of 2016. Flooring critics with her enigmatic, unique sound, she's garnered praise for her “awe-inspiring songcraft" (Boston Hassle) and the ability to "blend genres like soul, folk and electronic pop with a painter's touch" (Deli). She's shared stages with CocoRosie, Mirah and TuNe-YaRdS. Her new album ‘Subtle Creature’ premiered in BUST in October 2016 and was hailed as a “spectacular mystery.”
Nia Andrews
Nia Andrews
Whenever artist Nia Andrews steps to the stage, the room around her falls into the dreamy world she paints. Solange called on her to join her number one album A Seat at the Table alongside Kelly Rowland, and Nia’s most recent release, From Here, co-produced with frequent collaborator Mocky (Feist/Jamie Lidell) showcases beautiful songs that lift hearts and capture imaginations.

After touring internationally as a background singer for artists Janelle Monae, Lauryn Hill and Common, singing at the Grammys for Mary J. Blige, and penning vocals for underground stars Blu, Shafiq Husayn and celebrated voices such as Jill Scott, it was a long time coming for Nia to step center stage with her 2013 debut EP, Colours.

Since its release, the self-taught musician has put her heart and soul into Los Angeles’ music scene. Pushing it forward at the critically-acclaimed live music experiment, CHURCH (by founder Mark de Clive-Lowe where Andrews is resident), and becoming an unmissable voice at live venues across the city and worldwide.

No matter the setting or the sound – whether serving her raw emotion behind the piano, singing at a wild underground party, or alongside pop's heavy-hitters - one thing remains the same: Nia Andrews brings a magic like nothing else.
Eagle Nebula
Eagle Nebula
We are all made of stardust, but Eagle Nebula alone can claim birth from among the cosmos. Amid the swirling dust of comets’ tails and far-fling sparks of the divine, a star danced, and under that was she born. When the Space Goddess grew bored of the infinite peace and absolute silence of her cosmic home, she hitched a ride on a meteor and fell to Earth to share her lyrical wisdom with us Earthlings. In La La Land the Ghetto Sage resides, her unique and powerful lyrics speaking a newer and improved world into being.
