Crud
Crud
Spawned in the swamps of South Florida in 2015, CRUD began as a sludge-ridden two-piece, with Julie Mejia on bass and Mariel Zayas-Bazan on drums. Shortly after, Kris Garcia joined on guitar, and CRUD recorded their first instrumental demo. After returning from their first Eastern Tour, Carl McNew joined on vocals, solidifying CRUD as the four-piece they are today. Each member draws from personal influences—be it grind, 70s psych, or blackened crust, CRUD has been compared to every subgenre, never quite fitting any parameters entirely. Through lumbering bass and drums, CRUD remains true to their roots without sacrificing growth, allowing them to reissue their 2016 album, Resin, on vinyl through Totem Cat Records. Fueled by Tequila-blooded hate and a passion for all things heavy, CRUD won’t slow down any time soon, but rather spend the upcoming year writing new music for a second full-length. Burn one slow and drink one fast for what’s coming.
